I feel like a smokey eye is more for the evening than the day, of corse they are fine in the day too but they bring that extra, sexy look for an evening which I love, hence why this make up look is one of my favourites yet and it is mixing things up a bit to my normal way of doing make up!
So usually I start of with foundation but today I am going to start with the eyes, firstly I take some celotape (weird I know but trust me) and place a small piece from the outer corner of my eye to the end of where I want my eyebrow.
I then am going to be using the Nars Inoubliable Coup d’Oeil eyeshadow palette which I discuss in my ‘What’s in my make up bag’ blog post and using a soft eyeshadow brush apply the lightest shade ‘Dalliance’ which is a light stone colour and apply this over the whole eyelid just as a base colour. I then apply the Purple shade to the centre of the eyelid lightly applying the colour as the main colour for this look will be the black.
I then, using a wider brush, apply the black shade in the crease of the eye and along the edge of the celotape to make the eye appear to have a flick and take the about a third of the way along the eye. I then use the L’Oreal liquid eyeliner draw just along the edge eyelid and actually draw a flick. You can’t really see this but I feel it makes the line look more defined when the celotape is removed.
Next I move onto the foundation. So I can now remove the celotape from my face and then I am using the L’Oreal infallible foundation in the shade 120 Vanilla. I then use the Rimmel london concealer and a beauty blender and apply this under the eyes and in the centre of the forehead to cover any darker circles.
Next I use the Anastasia Beverly hills Contour palette and use the shade Banana over where I used the concealer. I then used a dark shade to create some definition around the edge of the hair line and under the cheek bones. Next I use my all time favourite eyebrow palette just to define these and make them look darker and neater.
Moving back onto the eyes, I apply a white liner on the lower water line just to make the eyes appear a bit bigger as sometimes the black eyeshadow can make the eyes look really small so this will just make them look brighter as well. I then apply some fake eyelashes to the upper lid and then go over these with the Max factor 2000 calorie mascara.
I feel like this look doesn’t need a lip colour, I could have used a nude lip shade but I decided to leave my lips as dark eyes and then a coloured lip can look too much so this is now my finished look, I hope you like it! Please give it a like if you do and leave your comments below.
