As many of you will know I have recently hit 1000 followers (have a look at my homepage and see my giveaway to celebrate and enter for yourself) but one of my oldest friends also got me a gift to celebrate as well and it was so lovely and thoughtful I thought I would post about it too!

She got me a Birchbox. I have seen other people post about these many times before and I have even been on the website myself and had a look and thought about subscribing but never actually have so today when she gave me this beautifully designed box I was so excited to see what was inside. 6 little products of beauty must haves!

IMG_2740The first thing to catch my eye was the Laqa & Co Cheeky lip which is a pink balm in the stick form. This can be used as a blusher or a lip balm which is really great to have in your hand bag or for a night out as it is a two in one. I have never actually heard of this brand before but when I tested this product out I had to ask myself how I hadn’t heard of it as it was lovely. It applied really smoothly to my lips and cheeks and left them with a subtle pink tone which I love as I’m not one for a bright pink.

IMG_2739The next product was the Laura Mercier flawless skin face polish. This is a brand I have heard of and also one I have spent hours watching YouTube videos of people using and talking about and me thinking I need to get my hands on this and give it a go which I finally can! This is a small bottle but it is enough to persuade me. I need this in my life. This face polish is really  great to use after a deep cleans and exfoliation of the skin which I am really into doing at the moment as you will tell if you have read my recent blog on cleansing.

John Masters Organics detangler was next to be pulled from the bag and this is just a perfect product for me all round. I have such frizzy and curly hair that brushing it after washing is a nightmare and I actually have to use detangler to be able to even attempt to get a brush though it so the fact that this is organic as well is a bonus! This product smells divine and  I will defiantly be using this as part of my hair care routine!

IMG_2742Then there was the Bliss soapy suds body wash which I pulled out. Firstly I love the colour of this product, silly I know as does it actually matter what colour my body wash is? No, it doesn’t, but I still like it. The smell of this is a bit strange to be honest, it is lemon and sage which I usually love but this is more sage than lemon I found although it smells great all the same. I really like the fact this can be used as a bubble bath as well as a body wash for the shower as I have often found that I have got shower gel instead of bubble bath and it just doesn’t have the same affect. Thumbs up to Bliss for creating this product.

Last but not least was a Benefit Porefessional Licence to blot stick. Now if you have  read my make up posts and all of the skin posts for that matter, you will know I am a massive fan of Benefit products so I have to ask myself, why have I not heard of this product before?! I have been suffering with oily skin more than usual at the moment so as soon as I saw this I got it straight out the packet and gave it a try, to my amazement, it worked. How this little stick of magicness can work I have no idea but it does and its great. This is defiantly going to be my new hand bag must have go to product!

  1. I love Laura Mercier’s oil free tinted moisturizer. It has more color than most but less heavy than a regular foundation. I have menopausal acne with very sensitive skin but can use Laura Mercier every day with no breakouts. Great blog. You look great in that green dress below.
