Anyone that knows me will know that recently I have been suffering the worst break outs at the moment which is really not like me! I have gone through my teen years without any serious issues with my skin and so I don’t know if this is just karma or what but I am suffering now!

I am going to every length possible to get my skin back to itself and in doing this I have purchased myself a cleansing brush. It is always a priority to me that at the end of the day regardless how long or how many drinks involved I will always, always, always take my make up off every night and even in religiously removing my make up when ever I cleanse it surprises me how much dirt is actually left on the skin even though it looks clear.
IMG_2343This cleansing brush is from a company called Danielle cosmetics, to be honest I have never heard of this brand before but from doing my research and having never used a cleansing brush before I didn’t know how much I would love or hate this product so I didn’t really want to spend a fortune on this and I thought this was reasonably prices being £23.99 for a tester.

IMG_2338The brush comes with three different heads, kind of like an electric tooth brush but better, the first being a soft bristle round head, which when the brush is turned on has two speeds. This brush is used to remove the dirt from the skin which has maybe started to make its way into the pores. It really makes your skin feel more alive and fresh. I would use this for a few minutes as you always have to be careful when using different products that you don’t cause damage to the skin.

IMG_2336The second brush is a short toothed rubber feeling brush. This is used to gently exfoliate the skin to take away the top layer of dead or dry skin to make it clear and ready to make the skin underneath breath better. This made my skin feel like a babies bum!

IMG_2337The third brush to complete the set is a tough sponge which when the machine is turned on spins. This is used mainly to cover the areas where the pores are starting too look that bit bigger than the rest and also to make your skin feel firmer. This is a step towards the toning of the skin and makes the skin feel tighter after using the other brushes.

Recently as well as spot prone skin I have also been finding my skin more oily than usually, which comes hand in hand really, spots and oily skin, but a great way to solving oily skin is to have a really great cleansing routine for your skin and to make sure you are using the correct products for your skin type.

  1. I have menopausal acne (after a lifetime of zit free skin) and my skin is so sensitive that I cannot use a brush. The dermatologist prescribed a sulphur wash, topical antibiotic and Avene AC moisturizer and my skin has never looked so good.
