Sundays are made for relaxing and eating and I really enjoy baking and testing out new recipes so today I’ve been in the kitchen and have made some delicious Chocolate and cinnamon swirls so this is the place to be if you want to try it yourself at some point.

You will need:

Roll-
350g Self raising flour
100g Butter
200ml Milk
2 Egg yolks
1 table spoon ground cinnamon
2 table spoon Caster sugar
Centre-
2 table spoon Caster sugar
2 table spoon ground cinnamon
Chocolate chips

To start with you will need to melt the butter and mix with the egg yolks and sugar. You will then have to mix together the flour and the cinnamon in a bowl. Once these are both mixed together in separate bowls gradually add the egg mixture into the main bowl with the flour and cinnamon. If you are lucky enough to have a mixer with a hook to mix this together then that would be easier but I found this actually mixed together really easily and quickly doing this by hand. Once all of the egg mixture is added you will know that it is ready to be rolled as it will be sticking completely together in the bowl.

I then cut a rectangle out of grease proof paper and lay it on the work top, placing the mixture on top of the paper. I then rolled out the mixture into a rectangle shape over the paper. Once it is completely rolled out, making sure the mixture is even in thickness throughout, I then sprinkle on the sugar, cinnamon and chocolate chips. Once satisfied that I have enough filling I then fold roll one end on itself so that I am able to get to the paper underneath. Once I have hold of the paper I slowly lift it upwards causing the mixture to roll as if making a swiss roll, you can do this without the paper if you don’t have any but I just found that it made it easier for the mixture to roll evenly.

Once this is rolled, take a sharp knife and cut the roll into eight pieces. Put the rolls on their side into a round baking tin and brush with milk to make then go a golden colour while cooking. Place the rolls into the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.

Once these are a golden colour, remove from the oven and leave to cool (or eat warm which is what I did as I couldn’t wait) and ENJOY! I hope you like my recipe and leave your comments and hit the star if you like this post.
